The Ultimate 2575C |
The ultimate 2575C is the pinnacle
of fluid head design. This academy award winning
fluid head will support up to 150 pounds, making
it the right choice for large EFP, studio with
prompting, and larger format film and video cameras.
The 2575CV (video) is the same as the 2575C,
but with a modified pan fluid section for operators
who prefer a lighter pan drag adjustment. Both
heads feature 90 to 90 degree tilt with infinity
adjustable counterbalance, and a folding crank
handle with numerical readout for fast, precise
and repeatable counterbalance adjustments. New
features include a timed level light and tilt
locking pin which positively locks the head for
fast and safe camera angles. |

Infinitely Adjustable True
Fluid Drag
Fluid drag allows you to pan and tilt smoothly, without shake or vibration. The
high viscosity fluid acts as a buffer, adding an adjustable level of resistance
to the camera movement. Oconnor’s patented fluid system uses sealed, multi-plate,
variable shear discs to give you the smoothest fluid action in the world. Pan
and tilt drag settings are infinitely adjustable and repeatable with numerically
indexed scale for shot-to-shot consistency. Noiseless and vibration-free adjustments,
even during shots-in-progress, give you more precise control than any other fluid
head can offer.
|
Infinitely
Adjustable Counterbalance
Counterbalance keeps the camera from falling forward or backward when it is tilted.
With correct counterbalance, the camera will stay where you put it, throughout
the entire tilt range. Only Oconnor’s patented and Academy Award winning
Dual-axis, sinusoidal counterbalance system gives you true, accurate and infinitely
adjustable counterbalance every time.
|
 |
And Oconnor’s counterbalance is the only one that
can be adjusted to zero for very low center of gravity
setups. Other manufacturers fluid heads only approximate
the correct counterbalance. They also have a limited number
of settings, or setups, so the counterbalance is never
absolutely correct, and some are not adjustable at all.

About Center of Gravity
Center of gravity is the mid-point of weight
distribution for your camera package, and is
usually measured as the distance from the camera
mounting plate. The higher the center of gravity,
or C.G., the more counterbalance torque is
required to balance the camera when it is tilted.
When your camera is balanced, the C.G. will
be directly above the tilt axis. When calculating
the total package weight, be sure to include
the lens, battery pack, film magazine and anything
else mounted or attached to the fluid head. |

Award Winning Designs
In 1976, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences awarded Oconnor a Scientific and
technical Achievement Award for the design
and concept of the fluid head. In 1993, the
Academy again recognized Oconnor by upgrading
the 1976 Award to a full Oscar, (an award of
merit), for their contribution to the art of
movie making. In 1994, the Society of Operating
Cameramen selected Oconnor Achievement Award
from the Academy for the dual-axis counterbalance
system, used in the Ultimate Series Fluid Heads. |
